SUPERMINDS AUTISM THERAPY CLINICAL TEAM
YOUR CHILD’S AUTISM THERAPY TEAM
Clinical Supervisor. Your child’s clinical supervisor is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst® who analyzes your child’s specific behaviours and learning habits to create a comprehensive treatment program that meets your child’s specific needs in any area of their life. For example, the team can work on increasing functional and prosocial behaviours while reducing behaviours that are harmful or interfere with learning. For privately funded clients, a clinical supervisor is not required, however one can be made available.
Supervising Therapist. Your child’s supervising therapist is a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst® or a highly trained behavioural consultant with a master’s degree in education or related field. Supervising therapists oversee your child’s treatment program, provide parent training, monitor progress, supervise and train behaviour therapists, and act as a clinical liaison, at the request of the parents, with community agencies/schools.
Behaviour Therapist(s). Your child’s behaviour therapists work directly with your child to provide direct therapy as guided by the supervising therapist and clinical supervisor. They hold an Autism and Behavioural Sciences Diploma and/or a degree/diploma in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and are either Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBTs) or are trained to become RBTs.
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) specialize in your child’s communication needs, such as speech delays and disorders, language delays, fluency delays (for example stuttering), voice and resonance, swallowing and feeding disorders, cognitive- communicative disorders, and pre-literacy and literacy skills.
Occupational Therapists (OT) can help your child with their gross motor and fine motor needs. OTs assess your child for things such as physical abilities, balance and coordination, mental abilities such as memory, coping strategies and organizational skills. OTs also focus on helping teach daily life skills to individuals with autism.

FAMILY & CAREGIVER TRAINING: HANDS ON THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS OR ONLINE
ON SITE OR VIRTUAL PARENT-CHILD COACHING
Our evidence based social and educational programs incorporate parent and caregiver training every step of the way. Families are trained to use the same strategies we use, allowing to foster long lasting change.
This ensures we pass our knowledge onto our famiies, through modelling and practice (exactly how we teach our kiddos!), enabling families to apply their new knowledge when we are not around.
If a child is not enrolled in a Superminds program or if you are a parent that just wants extra support, our BCBAs are also available for direct on site (in-clinic, or at-home in Simcoe, Caledon or York Region) or off site (virtual) parent child coaching consultations.
EASY TO FOLLOW ONLINE TUTORIALS FOR FAMILIES
For families that are not enrolled in the Superminds program, but want to get a head start, we designed an online learning platform that provides families access to a massive library of resources that we use daily with our kiddos and families.
Families can access the tutorials at their own pace, on their own time. Clinical supervisors are available for in person or online (ZOOM) consultations at any point to provide individualized support.
